Horse Riding/Equitation
Whether you are an experienced rider or a beginner, whatever your age, we have something to offer you at La Beauconniere. La Manche in Lower Normandy is the perfect destination for a horse-riding holiday in France. In this region, we are particularly fortunate to have such peaceful, quiet lanes cut through the bocage, and riding out is therefore a safe and enjoyable experience. Susan hacks out on several beautiful trails, each one providing variety and fantastic scenery.

How about a led horse or pony ride for the very young or beginners?
Susan is a keen equestrienne and, over the past several years, has become a follower of the Parelli method of natural horsemanship. She has five horses and four ponies and enjoys riding out with guests on the many calm lanes and chemins surrounding La Beauconniere. She encourages experienced riders to have a go at riding with the bitless bridles, but also has traditional tack available for those who prefer to use it.

Susan is happy to introduce guests to the horses and to lead them out on a two, four or seven hour hack. In addition, in-hand horse or pony rides are available for adults or children wishing to learn about horses and ponies.
Many guests, both children and adults, have had their first horse or pony ride at La Beauconniere.

The tariff for horse riding is as follows:
Experienced adults and children between 11 and 17:
A morning session, including ground level getting to know the animal, tacking up and a two hour hack: 40€
A three-and-a-half to four hour hack: 65€
A 7 hour ride including a lunch stop, 85€

Beginning adults and children between 3 and 18:
A one-and-a-half hour session including getting to know the horse or pony at ground level and a one hour in-hand pony ride: 25€ ( For parents who wish to join their child or children on horseback, 30€.)
